As a mom of 4, including a 3 month old that needs a lot of this:
I can have a hard time finding the time to read. I love to read and have multiple books going at any time and lately all I've been reading have been mommy, parenting & Christian woman lifestyle books.
I can't remember the last FICTION book I've read (It might of been The Giver 2 years ago when I read it with my son) I wanted to add more fiction to my stack, but just never gravitated toward them when buying books. I decided to challenge myself to pick ONLY a fiction book to review this month & The River to Redemption caught my eye.
I LOVE that it has a historical background. I love that it is based on real events & people.
I was sucked into the story from the get go. And although it still took me almost all month. I was grabbing at this book any spare moments I had (it took a lot of separate moments!)
Set in the early 1800's during a documented cholera outbreak set in a little town in Kentucky.
The characters had me invested from the beginning.
Such a great story of Faith, Perseverance and Redemption.
By the end I was left satisfied the story yet wanted more.... I never wanted it to end!
I appreciate such a great story by such a great author, and a great message.
Simple yet most everlasting takeaway: Pray Believing
